February 11, 2010 (4pm to 9pm) is the opening reception of the 2010 Winter Market at 151 West Cordova Street. The 2010 Winter Market is a celebration of a full artisan market open during the Winter Games with over 120 artists and designers at the former Storyeum location and across from the new Woodward’s building, W2. This enormous indoor market showcases products made in Canada (CANAMADE) and is opened daily during:

• 2010 Winter Games – February 12 to 28, 2010 (11 am to 8 pm)
• 2010 Paralympics Games – March 12 to 21, 2010 (11 am to 8 pm)

The 2010 Winter Market is “Vancouver’s Handmade Market Place” and the largest of 10 spaces of ArtWalk Vancouver 2010. The inaugural ArtWalk promotes visual artists working in Vancouver’s Downtown East side, Chinatown and Gastown communities in 10 galleries, retail spaces, studios and temporary “pop up” galleries, with over 250 artists in a full spectrum of disciplines.

The 2010 Winter Market space is:

• 15,000 square feet of clothing, jewellery, accessories and more, all made in Canada
• 10,000 square feet of art gallery with over 40 artists in a range of disciplines, including a 15 foot Teepee supplied by Mukwa Teepees
• 2 rooms of aboriginal art, clothing, jewellery and more!

Visitors at the 2010 Winter Market are also invited to:

• Meet artists, designers and DJ Dickey Doo
• Enjoy a beverage and some snacks at the lounge
• Watch Olympic events showing on a big screen monitor
