BIO:

Pandora began her explorations of the visual arts as a digital filmmaker in 2001. Although she dabbled with still images during that time, her photographic practice began in earnest 2006. Her first series of images incorporated her burgeoning interest in Shibari, Japanese Rope Bondage. Her Cowboy Bound series was the result. Since then, she has continued to explore the nature of photo.graphic imagery using a variety of subjects.

As her artistic voice has developed and matured, Pandora now views her photographs as sexual portraits, images that reflect the sexual personality and nature of her subjects. Pandora’s vision is to create a visual archive that mirrors the variety of sexual practices that we collectively have in this day and time. As with the myth of Pandora, she believes that her photographs will serve to educate, reveal, and ultimately illuminate that which was previously hidden. Her intention is that her images will inspire others to accept, embrace, and celebrate the diversity of our sexual selves.

As with many artists, the subject of Pandora’s work is a visual journal that reflects her personal explorations and experiences. However, this is not what makes Pandora’s work notable. Instead, it is Pandora’s sensitivity, appreciation and non-judgmental attitude towards her subjects that defines her ‘signature’ style. While the content of her images ranges from softly subtle to shockingly explicit, vanilla to kink, the presentation is always sensitive, sophisticated and beautiful.

She is also an accomplished digital filmmaker. She lives in Vancouver BC, Canada.

Exhibitions:

• Pandora’s artwork has been exhibited locally (Victoria, Vancouver and Powell River), and internationally, most notably in the Dirty Show in Detroit (2009, 2008), the Seattle Erotic Arts Festival (2009, 2007), and the 1st Annual ErosFest (2009) in Portland OR.
• In May of 2009, Pandora opened the Liberté Gallery in Vancouver BC, where she exhibits her work year-round.
• September 2009 images selected for exhibition in the 10.5 DirtyShow, Detroit MI, September 25 – October 3rd, 2009.
• August 2009 images selected for exhibition in the First Annual ErosFest art exhibit in Portland OR, Aug. 6-9th, 2009.
• May 2009 images selected for exhibition at the 2009 Seattle Erotic Art Festival, Seattle WA, May 1-3, 2009.
• March 2009 images selected for exhibition in the Expose Yourself Erotic Art Exhibition, Powell River BC, March 28, 2009.
• February 2009 images selected for exhibition in Dirty Show 2009, Detroit MI, USA.
• October 2008 Pandora’s solo studio exhibition during The Drift, an art walk on Main Street in Vancouver, BC.
• April 2008 a selection of images were exhibited at the Freedom Erotica art show at the CAGGV, Victoria BC, April 10-13, 2008.
• March 2008 invited to exhibit images in the “Expose Yourself” erotic art exhibit in Powell River BC.

In 2009, Artistrun (established in 2000) applied for grants for the Cultural Olympiad as a non-profit society called Artistrun Media Society.

In 2010, as BC arts faces almost 92% in arts cuts, Artistrun Media Society can no longer exist. The Artistrun blog is changing to a for-profit sole proprietorship model, managed and directed by Liza J. Lee.
